Alexander Design and Build, LLC is owned and managed by Alex Tobing, carries a Maryland Home Improvement License, Maryland Builders License and Washington DC Home Improvement License. Alexander Design and Build is insured and bonded in both Maryland and Washington DC.

Alex has been a carpenter by trade for over 20 years. He worked in carpentry while earning an Associate Degree in Arts from Montgomery College and Bachelor Degree of Science from the University of Maryland. Upon graduation, he spent a year in Bali, Indonesia, with the initial efforts in opening of Bali Intercontinental Hotel & Resort. Upon his return in 1994, Alex acquired his MHIC license and established himself in the remodeling/renovation market. Ready to tackle bigger projects and wanting to learn more about the industry, Alex worked as a project manager for other companies specializing in high end residential remodeling. In the year 2000, Alex went on his own and never looked back. He has been involved with numerous creative projects, varying from small renovations to million dollar residential renovations and homes.
